Woodland Trail Series 2024

Course:

Well-marked courses through single/double track trails and gravel roads.  Each race will offer a different course to experience all West Hill has to offer.  Join us for our 26th year!

There will be no Day-Of Registration.  Each race will be limited to 125 runners.  Parking is limited, please arrive early to get to the designated parking area.  The gate access to the start area will close approximately at 5:30.  Limited parking is available at the Dam entrance but it's a 3/4 mile warmup run to the start line.  For safety reasons we cannot allow dogs to participate in the race.  Also, note that the course is not stroller friendly.

The Trail Series is designed for runners.  If you plan to walk any part of the course, we ask that you notify us and plan on starting earlier than the posted start times.  This is to help keep our volunteers from being out on the course for longer than required.

The June and August races will have a modified course for 2024.  For June we dropped the Lima section and added the new part of Kilo.  August will run by the entrance area of the mountain bike skills park and on to the new section of Kilo.

Preview Runs:

Bib Pickup:

Bibs can be picked up on the day of each race near the start line (beach area) before the race starts.

Location:

New Entrance effective 2019: West Hill Dam, 518 Hartford Avenue East, Uxbridge, MA 01569.  Do not go to West Hill Park, entrance is closed.  WHD prohibits alcoholic beverages in the park.

Entry fees:

A portion of each race fee will be donated to the Uxbridge Food Pantry.

Kid's Dash: TBD

For the 3rd year the Woodland Trail Series will have a kids dash for the August race...

We will be offering a FREE "Kid's Dash."  Dash is the key word here as the kid's dash will be approximately a 50 yard run across the beach area.  The race is really recommended for the younger kids.  While kids over 10 are welcome to participate, it's really for the little ones.

The Kid's Dash will take place right before we start the August race around 6pm.  Please register so we have a count of the kids so we can have some of the traditional Woodland Awards for them.

General Info:

The trail runs are in their 26th year.  Course measured by GPS.  Over 75% is wooded single and some double track trails that are generally rolling and shady.  Remainder on paved/gravel roads.  Cancel only in the event of lightning or other severe weather, not if it is merely raining.  Ample food and drinks.  BBQ after August race.

Directions:

From Milford:

Go west on Route 16 to Mendon.  Turn right on to Hartford Avenue West, just after New England Steak House.  Continue on for 2.2 miles.  Dam entrance is on the right, just after coming down a large hill.

From Grafton/Upton/Uxbridge:

Go south on Route 122 into Uxbridge to the traffic lights at Hartford Avenue.  Church will be on your left.  Turn left on to Hartford Avenue up large hill to four-way stop sign.  Straight through, down hill pass by Tri-River Medical Center.  West Hill Dam entrance will be approximately 1 mile beyond Medical Center on left.
