Angel Run 3.2 Miler - Medfield, MA - December 2, 2012 - From Mary: We both sort of ran the Medfield race Sunday, which is a very hilly obstacle course – the obstacles being hundreds of kids. It's a very pretty woodsy course: a grist mill, little quaint bridges over little streams, corny signs mixed with signs of encouragement, plus at least 2 groups singing Christmas carols, another couple of groups handing out candy canes, etc.

High Noon's Rudolph's Red Nose Run 2012 - 7.2 Tuff Miles - Leavenworth, KS - December 1, 2012 - From Mike: I ran a race today while on my business trip. It was billed as 7.2 "Tuff" Miles and it lived up to the billing. A pretty small field for a local race with an unusual distance. There was an uphill at every mile. The weather was in the 60's and it had rained overnight so it was humid. Quite a change from what I had been used to running in. It was a well staffed race and no one went off course, which is always good. It all began and ended at the High Noon Saloon, and afterwards they had complementary beer, water, and food. They also gave every finisher a pint glass, which is a nice touch. If I am back out here again during this race, I would love to run it again.

26th Annual Ho Ho Ho Run -
Norwood, MA - December 1, 2012 - Several TVFRers braved the light snow to run in this TVFR Grand Prix Race. Glenn Miller is third overall and first in his division. Linda Zavalick takes a third in her division.
From Mary Tyler - the Norwood Ho Ho Ho on Saturday had an unusual course addition – 2 deer ran right across the course about 3 feet ahead of me in the last mile. The came dashing out of a side street, ran across the road and disappeared into someone's back yard. It was spread out enough at that point that they didn't cause any collisions when any of the runners, but it was definitely startling. I figured they might be wanna be Santa reindeer, saw me in my Santa suit (aka Mrs Claus) and thought I might put in a good word for them to the big man himself. They were certainly flying across the road.
