Veteran's Memorial 5K, Shrewsbury - November 9, 2014
From Mike: Ran one of my annual 5Ks today, the Veterans Inc. 5k in Shrewsbury. This event helps to benefit the homeless vets and those at high risk of becoming homeless that are serviced by the organization. The race is on a challenging course with a mix of both downhills and uphills. Always a good event, well attended by the local ROTC and JROTC units and a more than respectable after race refreshments. Also, the first female finisher was a 14 yo which definitely impressed Paul and I. Look forward to this race next year.

Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon, Bay Lake, FL - November 8, 2014
From Jill: Ron, Danny and I did the Disney Wine and Dine half marathon on Saturday, November 8 in Disney World. This is a unique race that starts at 10pm and runs through several Disney parks before finishing in Epcot. There's a wine and food festival afterwards in Epcot, which stays open until 4am! It was a lot of fun despite the pouring rain.

Gansett Half Marathon, Narragansett, RI - November 2, 2014
From Amy-Sue: The weather was brutal (cold and very windy with constant precip including sleet), but I successfully completed my 1st Half Marathon in 2 hours. Yay! Special thanks goes to my BRF Donna for training and racing with me. Official gun time 2:00:28.5. (Too bad it didn't register my chip time b/c I'm quite sure it took at least 30 sec to start, thus I'm calling it 2 hours flat.)

Moose Pond Half Marathon, Bridgton, ME - November 1, 2014
From Sarah: Scott Keefe and I ran the Moose Pond Half Marathon in Bridgton, Maine. The race started at the Shawnee Peak ski mountain. It's a small race, only 226 for the half and there's also a 5k. It was a really nice race, great course and fan support, five water stops and a free bbq (for racers and their families) at the end. The course is tough; there were plenty of uphills and downhills and I was never so happy to see the finish line. There's something to be said about these small races - the most enjoyable races I've done this year were the small, low key ones! Goal accomplished - I finished in 1:54:38, under 2 hours for all 4 halfs I did this month. Scott finished in 1:37:07 to complete his New England state half marathon challenge!
