Sawyer trekked off to Worcester in need of a race and in the
cold brisk Worcester air he finishes first. Note: This
is a good low key race starting and finishing at Worcester
State College. A no frills race with a small entry fee
and refreshments immediately following the race. |

Christmas 10k Run for Home & Hospice Care / Newport / RI
/ Sunday, December 9 -
Harry and
Jennifer were in Newport and both had very good runs as they
continue to sharpen in this Christmas season. |

From Harry - This
is the second time I have run this race. I had the exact
same time last year. No PR but at least I wasn't slower!
This is an enjoyable race because the course is very scenic
and mostly flat with just one real hill at the very end. We
had great weather this year consisting of temps in the high
30s, no wind at all, and mostly cloudy but not dismally
overcast skies. The food was soup, fruit, donuts and coffee.
The awards were better organized this year and went five
deep in the open and masters divisions and three deep in
seniors and veterans. Teams are also recognized. To wrap up
the festivities there is a raffle for a large selection of
donated prizes. A good Christmas season road race to give
you a break from the rat race. |
