It was Martin's 60th
birthday so of course he had to take first place in his
division! And 21st overall. Nice birthay present
to himself. And this a week after running in the
New Bedford Half-Marathon. Charlene also takes
first Veteran.

New Bedford
Half Marathon - New Bedford, MA - March 21, 2010 -
The second race in the
USATF-NE Grand Prix Series. Tri-Valley Frontrunners are
19th in the Open Team Results and 13th in the Masters Team
Results.
From Martin Auty: The weather couldn’t have been
better for the New Bedford Half Marathon. I would guess
that it was around 60 and noticeably cooler along the ocean. I
hit my goal of around 7:45 (actually 7:39). The half marathon
distance was my longest run of the season, and I was right I
was not ready for it. That hill at 12 miles couldn't have come
at a worst point in time for this runner. Plenty of
water stops and more than enough volunteers handing out
the water. Hundreds of spectators along the route
cheering on the runners. The race course was pretty much
closed to traffic and the New Bedford Police were cheering on
the runners as well. Great Day in New Bedford.

Mary - The hills were worse than Bridge of Flowers - long
up hills with equally long down hills, neither of which my
knees like. So of course, I had to do a lot of walking.

Disney's
Princess Half Marathon - Orlando, FL - March 7, 2010 - From
Anita - I was in Florida this past weekend for the Disney
Princess Half Marathon with my girls. My younger daughter and
I ran as a mother/daughter team and we won first place! As a
matter of fact, we came in first over ALL the teams
(sister/sister, open, etc). Erin ran a 1:27:11 - she
was 13th overall to cross the finish line, 8th female overall
and 2nd in her age group!! She's a speed demon! I held
my own w/ a 1:48:45 and came in 282 Overall and 19th in my
division. My older daughter, Shannon, ran/walked with
her friend, Sara. Sara unfortunately developed blisters on
both feet and they had to walk a lot, but they finished!
Shannon's time was 3:34:03 and Overall was 9798 and 1142 in
her division. It was great - the race had 13,500 registered
with 465 being men; over 11,000 finished the race so I'm very
proud of our accomplishments!
