TVFR Woodland Trail
Series 5 Miler - Uxbridge, MA - June 30, 2011 - This
is the first of three trail races in the Woodland
Series. Thirteen TVFRers placed in their
divisions with Jason Stock first overall and Ross Mungean
second overall. First place division winners included
Jason Stock, Ross Mungean, John Dumont, Jennifer Lade, Linda
Usher and Henry Lane. Second place division winners
were Cortland Francis, Jackie Kelley and Brian Bell.
Third place finishers were Rich Victor, Sharron Morrow,
Marie Paturzo and Nancy Robbins.

Marion Village 5K - Marion, MA - June 25, 2011 - From
Martin Audy: Weather was fairly good with drizzle to
light drizzle and a temperature of 61. The course was
nice with a very gradual climb from about the half mile mark
to the mile. Mile two was small ups and downs and the
last mile was basically flat. Good food at the end of
the race. Fruits, drinks and pizza. Also the
posting of the results and the awards were done very
quickly..

Hopkinton, MA - June 18, 2011 - Sunny warm and more humid.
Great turnout for a great cause in neighboring Hopkinton.
TVFR was well represented and did very well in the division
awards as well. Chris Kivior second overall and first in his
division. Jay Stock third overall and first in his division.
Mike Walsh, Emily Ricketson, Jen Lade and John Parker each
with a first place
award. Glenn Miller, Cortland Francis, Erick Latimer and Joe
Drugan each with a second place finish in their respective
divisions. Susan Cahill and Stephanie Jarvis each finished
third in their divisions. A new PR for Mike McMullin. Many of the other runners finished
within the top ten in a race that had over 1,500 runners.
What a fantastic turnout.

Mount Washington Road Race - Pinkham Notch, Gorham, NH
- June 18, 2011 - From
Rich Victor: Weather was okay. The rain stopped just
prior to the start. 60s at the base and high 40s with 20 mph
winds at the summit. I did good for the first few miles and
then really struggled the rest of the way. I will have to
try this again when I have more time to train for it.

- From
Bill Lyon: There was
thunder and lightning before the race with some rain but the
race went off without a hitch. Billed as a downhill race it
was mostly flat with a few gradual inclines. Temperatures
were near 90 at race time and very muggy. Plenty of cookies
after the race. My time was a new PR.

Tyler: It was a perfect day for racing - wish I
could have gone faster, but I still need more recovery time,
so I don't want to set myself back. The race finishes in
front of the building instead of on a dog track, so
that's better and the post race feast is in a banquet hall
inside which is also better than last time we raced it.
