Applefest Half Marathon - Hollis, NH - September 25, 2010 - From
John Dumont: This
popular fall race attracts around a thousand runners
annually. It is one of the best organized races with
great food afterwards including the 'Apple Crisp' provided by
New England Country Pies.
The age divisions are 5 years with awards three deep that
include fruit baskets for division winners. The weather
was hot, humid and breezy throughout this hilly course.
I felt great until the 'big' hills started at mile nine and
the heat became tiring. Still, I was pleased to finish
strong. This remains a challenging race through scenic
New Hampshire.

This is a PR for me. Last winter my PR was 22:42 so today was good. 6:43 first mile. Huge race I think I was around 57th female overall so aside from not placing in the AG it was a good race.

it on gravel (no rocks) and no traffic at all.

MVP Health Care
Rochester Marathon - Rochester, NY - September 12, , 2010 - Nice,
relatively small marathon with 573 finishers. There aren’t a
lot of spectators but the course is runner friendly. It starts
with about 6 miles of a steady downhill grade then becomes
mostly flat with a few rolling hills and slight inclines.
There are about 14 miles along a tow path and bike trail on
the Erie Canal, about 6 miles of which is crushed gravel and
stone. It can get lonely on this section if you’re running
by yourself. After about 21 miles you can meet back up with
the tail end of the half marathon, which starts 15 minutes
after the marathon. Lots of good post race refreshments plus a
live band.

900 runners turned out for the fourth race in the New England
Pub Series. The race starts on the beach road and is
just about completely flat. Temperatures in the mid 60s with
overcast skies.. Nice post race feast!

Walpole Road Race - Walpole, MA - September 6, 2010 - 49
degrees at 7am but it climbed to the mid 70s by race time but
still better than the heat of past years. Over 400
runners in the 5K but only 202 in the 10K. Nice
raffle at the end with prizes for 150 runners. Charlene
Gaboriault takes 2nd in her divison.
