Longford Marathon and Half Marathon - Longford, Ireland - August 29, 2010 - From Anita:  The Stephens Family spent 10 glorious days in Ireland and we finished the vacation with the Longford Marathon and Half Marathon on Aug 29th with 600 runners.  I honestly didn't think it was possible, but the couse was uphill the whole race....how can that be???  The day was beautiful and the course was dotted with old churches, farms, sheep, horses, cows and more sheep.  Anita did the full marathon while Mark, Shannon and Erin ran the half.  Erin came in 3rd female overall and won cash money - didn't expect that and she was pleasantly surprised!   Shannon was 65th overall female and Erin was 3rd overall female.

Coaster Toss 5K - Lowell, MA - August 17, 2010 -  This race is part of the Goodtime 5K Race Series.  The concept for this race was simple; give each runner a coaster and have them try to toss it into a 24-inch wide bin while running.  Only 8 of 261 runners were able to accomplish that feat.  Mary Tyler takes second place in her division and is currently leading her age group in the series.  Doug has run all 7 races to date.

8th Annual Runaways 5 Miler -  North Attleboro, MA - August 8,  2010 -  From Martin:  My thoughts on a warm Sunday morning was to find a race close by and get in a shorter but quicker workout.  I picked this 5 mile road race and and Miranda Lambert says "Wrong Baby Wrong".  This was a very challenging course with several hills over the first three and a half miles.  By the time I hit the downhill potion I was too tired to enjoy it, but I managed to persevere and cross that finish line.   It was a nicely managed race with two water stops, several people on the course and plenty of refreshments and raffles after the race.
